来年、私は生まれてから19年間を過ごしてきた海の側の街から引っ越すことになった。その事実に向き合っていると、自身と海の関係について意識せざるを得なくなった。
今回の《Tidal Memories》では作者が街に居ようが居まいが絶えず繰り返す潮汐に思いを巡らせることで、鑑賞者を介して作者の過去と現在を接続しようとします。そして、《空白の輪郭》では海を見つめる自身の瞳の写真を漂白します。日常的な景色に別れを告げるように、海水から発生させた塩素で写真の色素をも無色に変えていきます。
Next year, I will move away from the seaside town where I have spent the past 19 years since birth. Thinking of this, I couldn't help but become conscious of my relationship with the sea over the years. In this work, 'Tidal Memories', I think about the repeating tides to connect my past and present through the viewers, whether I am in the town or not. In ' Bleaching Memories ', the photograph of my eyes gazing at the sea is being bleached. As if saying goodbye to familiar scenes, I use chlorine generated from seawater to bleach the pigments in the photographs.
